With over two decades of experience, Wendy Murphy is a real estate veteran who’s helped hundreds of families with their real estate needs. While she sells everything from modest lake homes and condominiums to multi-million dollar estates, her niche is selling homes on the shores of Geneva Lake, where she and Sotheby’s International Realty have involvement in three of the five highest-selling homes on Geneva Lake of all time.

Wendy’s journey to Lake Geneva began in the Chicagoland area, where she was born and raised. She earned her real estate license after graduating from Michigan State University and while working at the Chicago Tribune. She had been assigned to the real estate advertising department at the time, and the excitement that surrounded the housing industry piqued her interest. After leaving the paper, she spent a few years in mortgage banking and then found her way into real estate, eventually owning a national realty franchise in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.

As a mother of four kids, she and her husband made the move to Lake Geneva where they could be surrounded by the culture and history of this area, as well as some of the best schools in the state. From walks along the shore path, afternoons at the beach, to sailing camp at the yacht club, Wendy believes that there wasn’t a better place to raise her family. Her love for the area led her to become the founder of the non-profit community website: “The Best of Lake Geneva”, which serves as a virtual encyclopedia for all that this area has to offer.

This deep appreciation for the Geneva Lake area combined with her background in advertising, finance, and real estate, provides Wendy with a level of experience that is unmatched. Even though the real estate process can be challenging at times, she is able to draw upon this experience to ensure a smooth and seamless transaction. As a seller’s agent, she leverages the Sotheby’s International Realty brand to increase the exposure of her listings. From targeted communications with top clients of the Sotheby’s auction house, and her global network of real estate agents, to branded luxury magazines and digital advertising, she will make sure her listings are promoted where the buyers are looking. Wendy listens, responds, and delivers results to all her clients while making the experience enjoyable and memorable.
